Following the lead of the U.S. Senate, yesterday the U.S. House of Representatives passed the Food Safety Modernization Act – commonly referred to as the Food Safety Bill.
Our industry is committed to our consumers and our top priority is to ensure the safety and quality of our products. Thus, we commend the House for focusing on such an important – and historical – piece of legislation before heading home for the holidays. The safety of our nation’s food supply, and the impact of this piece of legislation, are vitally important.
We look forward to the next step in making this bill a reality – its signing by the president.
